About My Clients
My clients are people from all walks of life. I work with the teenager learning to identify their emotions to the couple wanting to feel connected. We all want to feel a sense of belonging in our relationships, not only with the people around us but also within our very selves. Questions like "Who am I?" or "Why does this keep happening?" need to be addressed at a variety of places in our lives. My clients are people trying to understand who they are and what they bring to the table.
My Background and Approach
The main focus of my work as a therapist is Family-of-origin work. We grow up in families and communities that shape us in significant ways, and sometimes we want to change so that we can do relationships differently. Identifying patterns of behavior and where they come from can be very helpful and healing in some ways. The real challenge though is moving past those old stories and making new ones that are generative of the kind of life and person that you want to be.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Life is a process. Shaping who you want to be is the greatest process we are individually faced with each day. Goodness, Righteousness, and Happiness are things that we all pursue, things that we all want to be in alignment with. Perhaps the key to that alignment is first accepting yourself for who you are today, and what your life currently offers you.
