About My Clients
I specialize in supporting people moving through transitions. We might be a good fit if you are: exploring your gender, sexuality, or the bigger picture of who you want to be in the world. In a queer family building process, are a parent to young children, or want support in your transition to parenthood. Struggling with anxiety and stress, depression, trauma, PTSD, shame, or if you just want better coping skills. Working to change the way you show up in your important relationships.
My Background and Approach
My work with clients is curious, loving, and client-centered. Queer and trans spectrum people are the center of my practice. My approach to therapy is integrative and relational. I draw from a range of theories and research to build a shared understanding of what you’re experiencing and why, because different approaches are helpful for different clients. I work collaboratively, and pay close attention to the therapeutic relationship itself. My work is informed by attachment theory, emotion focused therapy, mindfulness, elements of DBT and CBT, and is somatic and trauma informed. I am neurodivergent affirming, and support clients of all body experiences in finding ways to thrive in our ableist society. My personal and professional ethics are informed by anti-racism and cultural humility, radical queerness, and the pursuit of liberation. Humor and metaphor are my constant companions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a loving, hopeful outlook on life and a fundamental orientation toward connection. I get energy from learning about other people and am endlessly curious about those around me. I believe we all deserve a joyful, connected, meaningful life. I identify as a non-binary, queer, white, middle-aged, and a currently able bodied neurodivergent person born and raised in the northwest. I earned a Bachelor’s of Music at Scripps College, an MSW at the University of Washington in 2011, and have been in private practice since 2020. My work with clients is informed by my own transitions: from living rurally to living in a city, from a religious upbringing to thriving as a queer and trans parent, from working in the service industry to an office, and from studying fine arts performance to a career focused on social good. After decades of more systems level work, I turned to this healing practice to support individual care and liberation to strengthen our communities from our insides out.
