About My Clients
I support clients who find themselves asking the big questions; “am I good enough?” “am I lovable?” “who will be there for me?” and I assist them in slowing down to discover where these questions are coming from and how to meet their needs with care and compassion. My clients are couples looking to strengthen their connection in the midst of conflict, individuals searching for a greater sense of security with themself and others, and relationships cultivating intention and attunement.
My Approach to Helping
I believe every part of you has a story to tell and holds deep meaning - mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, relational. I work with clients in their past, present, and future, connecting clients with all versions of themself, lineage, and relationships. I approach my therapeutic work with warmth, compassion, and a sense of play. The container I create with clients is one of co-creation, where clients feel individually cared for, tended to, and moved gently toward growth. Finding where trauma lives in the body and creating safety, I assist clients in bringing awareness to present emotions and sensations that help them move through the world more aligned and connected with the self and others. My approach is trauma-informed, systemic, and based in Attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic modalities. I have additional certifications in Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy, Somatic Attachment Therapy, and Sexual Assault Survivor Advocacy.
My Values as a Therapist
I think about mental health through a systemic lens - the understanding that we are all impacted by one another, the sociopolitical systems in which we live, and our social locations. I believe we are interconnected with the world around us making ecological concepts and connection with nature an important part of my work. I am invisibly physically disabled and neurodivergent, which fuels me toward naming and dismantling ableism on the systemic level. I am an active advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and have served as an advocate and educator teaching students and community members about topics such as systemic racism, the importance of sex-positive education, and trans rights. Through this lens, I center those impacted by systemic marginalization and emphasize social justice in my practice. I believe everyone has the right to affirming, validating care and that therapy can be a building block not only for you and your relationships, but for community change and liberation.
