About My Clients
Taking care of ourselves is not optional. Oftentimes so much energy, time, and compassion are spent on others that we forget to take care of ourselves until we are running on empty. Understandably we all want to feel as though we are strong alone, but I hope that I can create a space where compassion gives way to vulnerability, and that vulnerability creates a path to wholeness. We owe it to no one to suffer in silence.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina with an M.A. from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Let's walk together through the therapeutic process. During this time we will work to understand the root causes of what is creating the discomfort and find possible solutions. Working together to discuss treatment plans and having open conversations are important to the process, and I think the best results emerge from collaboration. My treatment orientations include Person-Centered (Rogerian) therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Culturally Sensitive Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in being a culturally aware counselor. I believe in a holistic, whole-person approach to therapy. This for me includes a sensitivity and understanding of each person's individual culture and what it means to them.
