About My Clients
Dylan provides services to a variety of people related to a variety of concerns. These include issues related to societal pressures, family conflict, relational concerns, as well as a variety of mental health symptoms (such as anxiety, depression, and trauma responses). Dylan has worked with many individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community and other minority group members, recognizing and acknowledging his own privilege's. He serves both individuals as well as families/couples.
My Background and Approach
Dylan has earned degrees in both psychology as well as clinical mental health counseling. He has provided services in a variety of settings including community health agencies, a university, and an inpatient psychiatric setting. Currently, he provides services via telehealth through Telehealth Counseling of Idaho, LLC, his primary practice. Dylan utilizes a variety of approaches, including choice theory, reality therapy, gestalt therapy, systems, trauma-informed, as well as aspects of transactional analysis. Dylan prefers to work in the present moment, even when addressing issues of the past or future. He values the journey of his clients and support them in their self-discovery and exploration.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Dylan's personal beliefs are largely separate from his counseling work, though he recognizes the value in acknowledging and recognizing the influence such beliefs or behaviors may have in counseling work. He does not practice a religion and is atheist. He is a straight, white male who is accepting of the views of others. He honors individual and group expression. He recognizes the existence of many social issues and attempts to advocate for minority groups. He finds meaning in alternative lifestyles and solutions to social issues.
