About My Clients
I specialize in working with millennials struggling with: overthinking or 'sticky thoughts', self-esteem issues, ambivalence around parenthood and the societal pressures attached to this decision, career dissatisfaction, identity formation or exploring the question 'who am I, and what do I care about', and navigating financial stress and overwhelm.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in working with millennials struggling with: overthinking or 'sticky thoughts', self-esteem issues, ambivalence around parenthood and the societal pressures attached to this decision, career dissatisfaction, identity formation or exploring the question 'who am I, and what do I care about', and navigating financial stress and overwhelm. I love working with first time therapy goers, as I know taking that first step to get started is one of the hardest parts. In therapy with me, we'll take an open-ended collaborative approach to identifying and then shaping your story of self. I'll help to highlight the patterns and provide tools to deepen your understanding of self and support you in feeling better. These tools include reflective writing prompts, mindfulness exercise, podcast and book recommendations, breathing exercises, and other coping skills.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe it's our responsibility to define our own meaning in life. Finding meaning is an interpretive act. We make meaning through telling stories about our lives. Language does not just capture and reflect experience, but also creates it. My job as a therapist is to support you in crafting your story of self, so that you move from surviving to thriving. I believe that having a lack of purpose or and feeling disconnected from yourself can be confusing and isolating. I enjoy the process of helping people move from a reactive state to living a fuller, authentic life in which they feel like the author of their own story.
