About My Clients
I enjoy serving male children, adolescents and adults. My clients oftentimes find themselves struggling with anxiety and depression as well as relationship issues. I find myself collaborating well with those who are trying to make sense of what it means to be masculine while using a faith-based approach when my patients request one.
My Background and Approach
I have a plethora of experiences in psychiatric inpatient settings which allow me to maintain heightened composure around high-acuity patients. I have been working in individual outpatient settings which permits me to grant all attention to one person at a time and craft customized treatment plans to comply with my client's needs. I specialize in issues specific to men, depression and anxiety, grief and Christian or faith-based counseling. My approach is designed to establish a passion for change in each client which motivates them to set and accomplish goals that they are emotionally attached to. My belief is that if you don't set the goal it's less likely to be finished by you. Focusing on how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors relate to one another is crucial to your success so the use of psychoeducation will be brought strategically in order to teach the client about issues they may not have been knowledgeable of prior to treatment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all have the ability to change and sometimes we find reasons not to. You can change that with encouragement and appropriate challenge. The belief in a higher power can motivate us to focus on something other than ourselves and our emotions which can seem the size of mountains.
