About My Clients
There are life issues we all face: Tough decisions, personal conflicts, relationships, and future hopes. Some reading this may also be facing anxiety and worry, depression, anger, past trauma, and/or being a target of violence. Dreading tomorrow or the past can overwhelm you to hopelessness. The good news is knowing you’re not alone, and there IS HOPE! Life may have pain, but with support and skills you can take your life back and look forward to your future.
My Background and Approach
I have extensive experience with diverse clients with life situations of uncertainty, anxiety, depression, trauma, substance addictions, family conflict, and more. The first step for any therapist is to connect with clients using empathy and genuine concern. Then using professional knowledge, skills, and personal life experience, a therapist works to guide clients to wellness. Some therapists listen and let clients guide, which is one method. My approach is very interactive, direct, and guiding (based on client goals). Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy uses thought and behavioral management techniques based on scientific theories. With a culturally appropriate action plan, we will take real steps to move you toward a positive and healthy lifestyle.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a social worker, I have been involved in the community to improve the quality of life. I co-founded coalitions to reduce violence and promote police and community relations. I was also honored as a 2019 recipient of the OKUHRA Oklahoma University Human Rights Award. No matter your background, I am committed to meeting your needs with empathy and professionalism.
