About My Clients
Have you been researching autism and neurodiversity? Do some of the traits and characteristics of autism resonate with your own personal experiences? Maybe you've taken tests for autism online or heard people on social media give competing perspectives on what autism is. I help people sift through all the information to better understand their own neurodiversity. As a licensed psychologist, I can formally diagnose autism and provide you with actionable recommendations based on your goals.
My Background and Approach
As a neurodiversity-affirming practitioner, I reject neuronormativity, or the belief that there is one way of thinking, feeling, or experiencing the world that is superior or correct. Instead, I embrace neurodiversity and the belief that the natural variability in how humans experience and interact with the world around them is one our greatest strengths. Autism is one of many forms of neurodivergence. While it is true that many autistic individuals experience distress as a result of their autism, not all autistic people do. My approach focuses on collaborating with people to identify their goals for the evaluation so that we can explore their strengths and challenges within that framework. I respect the autonomy of the individuals I work with, prioritize their lived experience over the opinions of others, and presume competence and strength rather than deficits. I offer two different evaluation packages to meet different needs and budgets with prices ranging from $1500-$2500.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone should have access to quality mental health care. Autistic adults have long been overlooked and under supported by our healthcare system. In many states, the wait time for an evaluation is a year or longer. On top of that, the nearest provider who conducts adult autism evaluations may be several hours away. These systemic problems create unnecessary obstacles to access. That's why I founded NeurodivUrgent. We use telehealth as a tool to make it easier for adults across the United States to access a thorough and accurate autism evaluation using evidence based tools and procedures, from the comfort of their own home. I am an lgbtqia+ affirming practitioner, and I welcome individuals of all genders and all sexual and romantic orientations.
