About My Clients
Take a moment to imagine the best self you are living. How does it feel? Now is there anything stopping you from achieving that best you? The obstacle may be trauma, depression, anxiety, oppression, anger, fear, lack of skills in communication or international relationships... we would like to assist you in healing from those obstacles and learning skills.
My Background and Approach
We believe each person has potential to grow and become happier at any age, through difficult circumstances. Our ultimate focus in therapy would be to increase fulfillment in life, not to merely eliminate "symptoms." The source of your happiness and your journey to get in touch with happiness are unique to you. We have worked extensively with people who struggled with various challenges. Such challenges include the grieving process for deceased loved ones, losses, depression, relationship/communication problems, trauma (including racism, anti LGBTQIA violence, sexual assault, birth trauma, perinatal loss, combat, accident),panic attacks, excessive worrying, compulsions, death and dying, physical illnesses, parenting/grandparenting, unresolved childhood issues, and chronic pain. Hypnosis for peaceful birth and treatment for birth trauma is available. We provide LGBTQIA+ affirming care. We stand in solidarity with the Black community and against systemic oppression and violence.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Yes, life poses obstacles. You can make your life more fulfilled, joyful, and meaningful. We would be honored to assist you in your journey. Spanish (Ofrecemos psicoterapia en español), Japanese (日本語で診療致しております。), and English services are available. We are group of doctors (psychologists and postdoctoral fellows) who have lived experiences belonging to marginalized groups and have worked extensively with both marginalized and non- marginalized people. We believe in social justice and maximizing people’s potentials. We stand in solidarity with the Black, Indigenous, Asian, and Latinx communities as well as other people of color. We welcome diversity and stand against systemic oppression, injustice, and violence against marginalized communities. We continue to examine our own privileges and biases and humbly lean in order to become better neighbors and advocates. We challenge racist policies. We are committed to be antiracists and create safe space for healing and growth.
