About My Clients
While I specialize in treatment of trauma/PTSD, substance use disorders, active duty and retired military, and first responders, I am comfortable in treating a wide range of presenting problems experienced by adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, and religions.
My Background and Approach
Given my years of training and experience, I integrate a variety of approaches to therapy (including interpersonal, psychodynamic, motivational interviewing, and cognitive-behavioral) with a focus on Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). My primary use of EFT is based on its empirical/research support, the assistance it provides individuals in understanding, expressing, accepting, regulating, and transforming their emotional responses, and its warm, supportive stance. In addition to more traditional approaches to therapy, I integrate holistic practices, such as yoga and meditation. Ultimately, healing looks different for everyone. The choice of what approaches are used is based on your unique needs. My goal is to help you develop the tools and skills you need in order to heal and to achieve better being within yourself and in your life.
