About My Clients
During the perinatal period, women can be susceptible to experiencing trauma due to complications during pregnancy or childbirth, medical interventions, unexpected outcomes, or other distressing events. I alleviate the psychological distress associated with these traumatic experiences, helping women to process and integrate the memories in a healthier way. As well as strategies to cope with stress, relationship challenges, changes in identity, grief, and other factors affecting motherhood.
My Background and Approach
A little more about my background. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in NY and CT with almost 20 years of experience. I received my doctoral degree from Silver School of Social Work at NYU. I obtained my master’s degree from Boston College Graduate School of Social Work. Most of my career focused on medical social work where I worked primarily in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Labor & Delivery, and Maternal Fetal Medicine. The latter part of my tenure at the hospital was working for a program that provided perinatal palliative care services to birthing people whose baby was diagnosed with a life limiting condition and chose to carry the pregnancy to term.
