About My Clients
You’re the strong one. You anticipate what everyone needs and rarely say what you need. Many of the couples I work with are high-achieving partners, often Black and BIPOC, who look like they have it all together and quietly don’t. They come to me after an affair or the discovery of secret porn use, when desire has gone quiet, before marriage, or when they’re deciding whether to stay. I specialize in working with Black and BIPOC couples and high-achieving women, and I welcome couples of all back
My Background and Approach
’m a licensed marriage and family therapist (CA LMFT 95741) with a PhD from Sofia University, an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist, in practice for 13 years. I used Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy for years before choosing Imago, because it’s experiential rather than a scorecard of who’s right. You’ll talk to each other, not to me. We map the pattern keeping you stuck, then practice the repair in the room until it becomes muscle memory at home. My research and clinical work center Black and BIPOC partners navigating love alongside racial stress and family expectations. I see clients online across California and in person in Westwood by request, and offer relationship coaching outside California. I’m out of network and provide superbills, and Mentaya can file claims for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Relationships aren’t problems to be fixed. Most of what feels broken between partners is a misread, not a flaw. I believe having needs isn’t “too much.” It’s human, and the people who carry everything deserve to be cared for too. I also believe in honest choices: sometimes the work is learning to delight in your partner as they are, and sometimes it’s transitioning with care. Either way, I’ll walk alongside you. Outside the therapy room, I’m a wife and a mother of five, and I practice what I teach at home. I love cooking and old-school R&B, which I sing enthusiastically any time I can karaoke.
