About My Clients

Are you in a relationship but feel disconnected & lonely? Maybe you are so wrapped up with work and family that you rarely find time to connect just the 2 of you - and now you wonder if you can even bridge the gap anymore. Do you fight and bicker constantly about stupid stuff and find yourselves asking, "why is it so hard for us to get along?" Are you wondering if your relationship is the right one for you? I'm here to help you bridge that gap, gain clarity, and feel happy again.

My Background and Approach

Whether you are looking for help individually or as a couple, my personalized and intuitive approach will help you attain lasting personal growth and change in a supportive and motivating environment. I attained my bachelors in psychology from University of Maine and my doctorate in psychology from Florida Tech with a specialty in couples therapy. A doctorate is the highest level of training a therapist can attain and I have been working with clients for almost 10 years now. I'm passionate about inspiring people to dream big and achieve their “impossible” through improving their life and relationships. I feel no one should settle for a life or relationship that is not full of joy, passion, and fulfillment. My therapeutic approach is direct and supportive and I'll take an active role in sessions to ensure that you get the best results possible. I'm a contributing expert to Readers Digest, CareerBuilder, Refinery29, Bustle, ConnectWithLife, AskMen, Self, and more.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Working with underserved populations has been a passion of mine since graduate school. For my dissertation, I worked to improve after school programs for low income African American youth in FL. After graduating and moving to LA, I volunteered with the Trevor Lifeline counseling LGBTQ youth when they called the suicide hotline. My current passion project (in addition to my private practice) is working 2 days per week at an immigration detention facility providing therapy to detained immigrants. I work with people from all over the world, most of whom are seeking asylum in the US after experiencing unthinkable trauma in their own countries. While I recognize that I come from a position of privilege in many ways, this work has given me a world perspective that 1) makes me truly grateful for all that I have and 2) gives me a unique ability to understand the struggles of others even if, at first glance, we seem nothing alike.
