Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories (Shapiro, 1989a, 1989b). EMDR therapy processes past events that have laid the groundwork for dysfunction. Additionally, internal and external triggers are desensitized.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps clients to become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so they can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.

Couples counseling helps couples to improve trust and communication by understanding each other's perceptions and opening a safe space for challenging conversations and solutions that will strengthen the relationship.

Psychological abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, financial abuse, emotional abuse are some of the most common forms of abuse that can impair someone's life. Abuse leads to traumatic experiences that will impact the victim for years to come. I work with victims to overcome the effects of abuse by developing effective ways to cope with their trauma.

Anxiety is a natural human response when we feel that we are under threat. However, people with anxiety disorders frequently have intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. These feelings of anxiety and panic interfere with daily activities, are difficult to control, are out of proportion to the actual danger and can last a long time. During therapy sessions, my clients learn techniques to improve symptoms of anxiety and return to daily functioning.

Depression is a common but serious mood disorder. It causes severe symptoms that affect how you feel, think, and handle daily activities, such as sleeping, eating, or working. I help my clients to develop a more effective thinking process that leads to change in behaviors that contribute to depressive symptoms. My clients learn skills to adopt a happy and lifestyle.
