About My Clients
My clients are 18 years old and older seeking individual, couples and or group counseling. My clients are challenged by unsatisfactory relationships, substance abuse, depression, recurrent thoughts which negatively effect self-esteem, anxiety, and trauma. A CBT approach is extremely effective at addressing these issues. My clients learn healthy coping skills which become life skills that are instrumental in navigating future obstacles.
My Background and Approach
I have worked with a varied populations of individuals in community clinic and private practice settings. I view clients as the experts in their counseling journey with my role being a patient, nurturing and well educated guide. I develop a treatment plan with each individual client to have a foundation moving toward a desired treatment goal. The treatment plan is reviewed as needed in collaboration with the client to make sure the counseling process stays on track. I have a more active approach in conversing with clients and may gently challenge their thought process to help develop new neural pathways in the brain. I also assign process oriented homework for completion in between sessions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that each client has a uniquely wired brain. I believe that this unique trait may pose an obstacle to understanding the patterns that may have emerged in one's life which then manifests as various psychological conditions i.e., depression, anxiety, personality disorders, substance abuse issues, etc. Contact me today so that we can put the pieces of the puzzle together for you and demystify your patterns that may have become problematic.
