About My Clients

I work with young adults and adults facing a variety of issues including: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship issues, stress, feeling “stuck,” and issues related to race, gender, sexuality, dis/ability and chronic illness. I have a passion for working with folx from the LGBTQIA2S+ community. I help people who want to build self-confidence and self-compassion, manage overwhelm and perfectionism, and understand themselves on individual, social, and cultural levels.

My Background and Approach

My approach to art therapy and counseling is trauma-sensitive, culturally responsive and incorporates a social-justice orientation framework and a strengths-based, person-centered model of care. I’ll seek to understand the personal, cultural, and institutional factors that impact you; value diverse perspectives; focus on your strengths; and recognize structural systems of oppression and how they may be impacting your lived experience. My goal is to provide a supportive, collaborative, and compassionate atmosphere to help you identify your needs and strengths, so you can use those insights to enact meaningful changes in your life. I draw from a range of approaches and tools so that our work is tailored to your overall goals and needs each time we meet. I aim to make creativity accessible and I integrate art therapy into my work with people who are interested in using the creative process to gain insight into their experiences and as a way to and create change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I promise to bring myself fully and authentically to our work together and move at your pace, while using warmth, creativity, humor, and directness to challenge and support you in equal measure. I believe that cultural humility and accountability are essential to my work as a therapist and I’m committed to abolition, anti-racism, fat activism, disability justice, and allyship to the LGBTQIA2S+ community. I also believe that art provides us with a unique and powerful mode of expression and opportunity for insight when we explore complex experiences and emotions.
