About My Clients
Most of my clients are insightful, high achieving teens and young adults who excel in their academic lives, but struggle in their personal lives. They often come to me seeking strategies to overcome anxiety and stress, harsh critical thoughts, perfectionism, overthinking and rumination, obsessive thoughts, and self-doubt. My therapy style is focused on helping my clients gain genuine happiness, find more purpose and life fulfillment, improve confidence, and deepen meaningful relationships.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a science-based model of behavior change supported by a vast body of research. My clients learn skills and strategies that they can immediately incorporate in their lives. I often focus on the science of genuine happiness, new ways of responding to emotional pain, how to take the power out of anxiety, and how to break free from self-criticism and self-hate. In addition, I have advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), and help adults as well as parents of young children create healthy sleep routines and improve their sleep. I also have extensive training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidence-based treatment for young children with behavioral problems. If you’re a parent of a toddler, you might be feeling lost in the sea of conflicting parenting information about what to do. I am passionate about helping parents better understand their child's behavior and enjoy parenting.
My Values as a Therapist
I hold a modern view of mental health treatment: one that is non-judgmental, relatable, humorous, and most importantly, goal directed. I am a firm believer in the healing powers of knowledge, and you will often find me sharing bits of neuroscience and evidence-based information in our sessions aimed at helping you discover meaningful solutions to your problems.
