About My Clients

My clients are often professionals, executives, business owners, medical professionals, first responders, and other high-achieving adults. They are capable people carrying significant responsibility, but stress, alcohol, substance use, or other ways of coping may be taking more than they give. You may be questioning a pattern without knowing what to call it or what needs to change. We can start there. You don't need a label or a predetermined answer before reaching out.

My Background and Approach

I have worked in mental health and addiction treatment for nearly two decades, including clinical, program leadership, and executive roles. I hold a doctorate in professional counseling and am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Substance Abuse Professional. My approach is collaborative, individualized, and strengths-based. Rather than beginning with a predetermined solution, we look at what is happening, what function a behavior or coping pattern has been serving, what is no longer working, and what needs to be built in its place. I draw from evidence-based approaches including EMDR, cognitive and behavioral therapies, mindfulness-based work, and trauma-focused treatment. There are multiple legitimate pathways to meaningful change, and we'll work together to determine what fits your needs, goals, and life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe people make the most meaningful changes when they have room to be honest without being reduced to a diagnosis, label, or behavior. I value curiosity over judgment, collaboration over prescription, and helping people understand why a pattern developed before deciding what should replace it. I also believe a successful life should be more than one you can manage. Work, achievement, responsibility, and caring for other people can occupy enormous amounts of our lives. There should still be room for connection, rest, humor, meaning, and enjoyment. Outside the therapy room, I value family, lifelong learning, good coffee, humor, and the occasional deep dive into a subject that probably did not require quite that much research.
