About My Clients

I welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds who aim to work through personal trauma histories, depression, anxiety, stress, health challenges, and/or identity integration. I recognize the importance of fostering a strong therapeutic relationship built on respect and understanding. Together we will collaboratively develop a treatment plan that is unique to your specific aims, taking into account your cultural background and identity, as well as your skills and abilities.

My Background and Approach

I specialize in the dynamic integration of science-based therapy with the art of client-centered, interpersonal processes. With a PhD in clinical psychology as well as a separate MA emphasizing cultural competence, my experience spans diverse settings, including major medical centers, primary care clinics, community mental health, and refugee services. In addition to public service contributions, I've founded Elevate Psychology, a private practice dedicated to providing evidence-based treatments to adults and adolescents across the U.S. Therapies I offer include, but are not limited to: Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Written Exposure Therapy, CBT for Insomnia or Nightmares, Exposure Response Prevention, Identity Affirming Therapy for LGBTQ+, CBT for Sexual Health, CBT for Depression and Anxiety, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Unified Protocol, Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation, and Motivational Interviewing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

On a fundamental level, I believe that every interaction is an exploration of individual human differences. The unique life experiences of each person influence their thoughts, emotions, and behavior in an interaction. Therefore, in my clinical practice, I approach every therapeutic session as a multicultural experience in which I have the opportunity to foster change through both the process and function of treatment. I acknowledge my own limitations within the therapist-client relationship and I prioritize continuous learning to enhance my personal growth as both a human being and a psychologist. I understand the serious responsibility of my role in the mental health field, and I feel privileged to collaborate with individuals striving to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives.
