About My Clients
I'm glad you're here and taking the first step in prioritizing yourself and your mental health. I work with adults ages 18+ in individual and couples/relationship counseling. I worked in university mental health counseling from 2010 to 2025 and have extensive experience working with young adults and college students. I opened my private practice in 2017 to serve the mental health needs of the greater community outside of university mental health. I also love to provide training and supervision.
My Background and Approach
I believe that all people deserve dignity, respect, safety, wholeness and wellness, and my practice and therapeutic approach reflect these beliefs. I strive to create a safe, welcoming, supportive, and accepting space where individuals and couples can develop greater self-awareness, tools for managing the struggles of daily life, a deeper connection to self and important others, and create a life they want to live that brings a sense of purpose, meaning, and value. I specialize in working with trauma, as it is often trauma and unmet needs (many of which begin as young children) that result in symptoms of anxiety, depression, chronic pain and illness, body shame, disconnection from self and others, and a low self-worth and sense of self. I take a holistic, integrative, evidence-based approach in my work, utilizing theories and techniques from EMDR, CBT, ACT, IPT, Feminist Empowerment Therapy, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, somatic therapies, and relational therapies for personalized care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I self-identify as a White, cis-gender, partnered, asexual, educated, woman who has grown up and always lived in the Midwest (raised in Indiana then came to North Dakota for graduate school and never left). I also have a very thorough understanding of ADHD, trauma, and OCD, as someone who has those lived experiences. My education and extensive clinical training provides me with the clinical expertise and my lived experience provides me with a deep, core-rooted understanding of the impacts of untreated and unmanaged ADHD, trauma, and OCD. I believe all beings deserve to life to their fullest potential and I feel it is my life calling to do my small part to help people feel seen, heard, understood, valued, empowered, and able to claim or reclaim their sense of agency to create or reconnect with their essential and desired Self. Outside of the therapy room you may find me playing with my dogs, reading, doing diamond art, having 4-hour dinners with cherished friends, napping, or learning.
