About My Clients
I work with Women, Men, Couples and families. My clients can range between the ages of 21 and 65 years old. I help clients build their sense of self, confidence, self esteem. I encourage my clients to build language and insight into their stories so that they feel free and able to reach for their dreams. My clients are people who want more out of life and just are confused about how to have what they want. I teach clients how to feel happy and process unresolved feelings.
My Background and Approach
I have 5 years of Psychodynamic, Psychoanalytic and Couple Therapy training. I have a Doctorate Degree in Education and Masters in Social Work. I believe our childhoods sets the stage for how the world feels to us and how we feel in it. I believe unprocessed feelings will hold us hostage. As adults we all have to learn how to process our feelings, it's the only way to grow up. I teach clients how to see themselves, to see what they already have inside of them. As children if we are never told we are special, we grow up believing we are not. I help clients find themselves, reconnect to what makes them special. I also believe we all have the power inside of us to heal. It's hard work but possible. I help clients build connect to themselves and others. I help clients build their confidence and self esteem so they can reach for their dreams. I also help clients practice boundary setting in their relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe good therapy helps us build insight. I believe it also helps us to feel good about who we are. We learn how to feel confident and proud of ourselves. It helps us to build our self esteem which allows us to reach for our dreams. I have HOPE. Everything I do is about instilling hope. I teach at NYU Silver School of Social Work, I teach students how to see themselves so that they can see their clients. I am the Director of the Couple Therapy program at TIMH. I work to create an environment where clinicians can grow, learn about empathy and feel stronger in the work, They will teach their clients and couples about empathy and feeling strong. I supervise clinicians so they will have what they need to be with their clients. I truly believe there is nothing we can't do.
