I would say that the vast majority of clients that I see suffer from anxiety -- although that's where the similarities end. Anxiety from dysfunctional relationships, work environment, abuse, bullying, life changes, adjustments, grief, attachment issues, bipolar, finances, or about 50 other reasons. Life is stressful but it can get better.
I've been working with people with ADHD since the late 90's. I'm well aware of all of the peripheral stresses that the condition causes and I've had a lot of success helping people work with ADHD to level the playing field.
I have been using EMDR with clients to process trauma since about 2016. We use the "theratappers" instead of the light bar or the moving fingers because I feel like it has better success with my former clients.
Although I tend to come, mostly, from a Gottman couples counseling orientation, I find that I use a lot of other tools frequently. Each couple is different so I'm flexible.
There are two of us at the practice that do neurofeedback to help with emotional regulation and ADHD. Since most insurance companies do not reimburse for neurofeedback at this time, we either integrate into the normal counseling session or charge a separate fee for the neurofeedback only.
