About My Clients

Realize you are LGBTQ+ in a conservative family and wonder how or if to tell them? Immigrated and trying to adjust? Want to know your partner better before you marry or expand your family? Have you lost someone you love deeply? Trying to build the life you want to live while balancing priorities and navigating hiccups in life can be challenging. I am here to support you as you connect to your inner wisdom that helps you build the life you want to live.

My Background and Approach

As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (AZ #5464 and PSYPACT#11395) with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.), I provide individual, group, and couples therapy. I am particularly attuned to supporting multicultural couples, faith transitions, and trauma. My approach is evidence-based, collaborative, and individualized. You will experience evidence-based, multimodal techniques from cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), family systems, and somatic experiencing (SE). Coordinating care with other health professionals, religious leaders, schools, and/or families when necessary ensures the most adequate, research-informed care possible. My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe people can build the lives they want to live by aligning themselves with their values. I was born and raised by conservative, Coptic Egyptian immigrants to the United States. While I connect to my faith and ethnicity due to the connection with my ancestors, I also have experienced pain from its teachings. I believe many of my LGBTQ+ cousins have had similar experiences. Personally, I continue to reconcile my faith as I shift and grow with every phase of life, and I enjoy supporting patients on their journey as well. I have worked with extremely conservative patients although I personally lean more liberal, and I feel at home with my patients who value equity, inclusion, and the ecological wellbeing of the planet. I do believe we all have more in common than our political atmosphere makes it seem, and I do believe connecting to those who are the least like me can impact incremental systemic change.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
I have experience with the following
  • Christianity
  • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
  • Judaism
  • Wicca/Paganism
  • Multifaith
