About My Clients

I work with adults and older adolescents who are navigating transitions, carrying histories they have not had space to process, or noticing patterns that no longer fit who they are becoming. Many of my clients have spent years showing up for others—managing responsibilities, relationships, and expectations—while holding internal experiences that have rarely been named or witnessed. My practice centers individuals whose lives have been shaped by systems not designed with them in mind.

My Background and Approach

My clinical experience spans hospital settings, community mental health, assertive community treatment, and forensic evaluation. I completed my doctoral training with a focus on liberation psychology, followed by advanced clinical training in court-involved evaluations with children and families. I have also served as a Juvenile Court Clinician, providing assessments and recommendations to courts and child-serving agencies. This range of experience shaped how I understand people—not through isolated symptoms or single incidents, but through the fuller context of their lives, histories, and circumstances. My approach is rooted in depth, honesty, and systemic awareness. I do not believe in surface-level interventions or one-size-fits-all frameworks. Therapy with me invites you to look beneath patterns, inherited expectations, and narratives you may have absorbed, informed by advanced clinical training and sustained experience.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that how we are seen shapes how we heal. My work is grounded in understanding people in full context—not reducing them to diagnoses, incidents, or their most difficult moments. I practice from a liberation-informed perspective that attends to power, identity, and systemic conditions as integral to mental health, rather than treating them as side considerations. I do not ask clients to leave parts of themselves at the door, and I approach this work with honesty, accountability, and care. Across roles as a clinician, forensic evaluator, and professional leader, I remain committed to ethical practice, equity, and the belief that representation and context matter.
