About My Clients
Many of my clients appear capable and put together externally but feel internally unsettled. I work with adults navigating trauma, childhood sexual abuse, emotional neglect, shame, and burnout. Some come in response to relationship struggles or life transitions that have made it harder to maintain the coping strategies that once worked. I also support LGBTQ+ clients, first-generation adults, and individuals exploring identity, sexuality, and belonging.
My Background and Approach
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I practiced corporate law. That experience gives me an understanding of high-pressure environments, burnout, and identity strain. My clinical work is depth-oriented, relational, and trauma-informed. I integrate psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic approaches, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. Rather than focusing only on symptom relief, we explore the underlying emotional and attachment patterns shaping your experiences. I pay close attention to what unfolds both within you and between us in therapy, as these relational moments often illuminate dynamics you may want to change. The goal is to understand how your patterns once helped you survive and create space for more flexible, grounded ways of relating.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy works best when it feels human, collaborative, and grounded in genuine curiosity. You are the expert on your internal experience; my role is to help you make sense of it. I view emotional pain as meaningful rather than pathological. Many struggles, including shame, hyper-independence, or emotional numbing, developed as adaptive responses to overwhelming environments. I am committed to trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and culturally responsive care. My aim is to create a space where all parts of your identity can be explored without judgment. Therapy is ultimately a place to move from survival toward greater integration, self-understanding, and emotional freedom.
