About My Clients
Have you known for a while that you need therapy but kept putting it off—until now? Talking to others may have left you feeling heard at times, but also judged or misunderstood. It may be time to connect with a professional. I provide support in a safe, nonjudgmental space where you are met with understanding and respect, while using evidence-based practices to support processing and offer practical tools for growth and lasting transformation.
My Background and Approach
Donnulette has experience serving individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Her areas of focus include trauma, bereavement, adverse childhood experiences, trauma and substance use, perinatal mental health, and military culture. Donnulette is EMDR trained and a Certified Grief-Informed Professional. She provides both traditional counseling and faith-based counseling for clients who choose to integrate a Christian perspective into treatment. Her prior experience includes ministry leadership and teaching roles within faith-based settings. She prioritizes the therapeutic alliance and approaches treatment as a collaborative process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that culture within the home, family system, and across generations significantly shapes emotional, behavioral, and relational patterns. Many patterns are learned through observation and experience and are often passed down from one generation to the next. While some behaviors may be intentional, others reflect limited skills, lack of healthy modeling, or absence of effective tools. I believe many challenges are rooted in learned patterns, which means they can be unlearned. With the right tools and support, individuals can develop healthier ways of navigating emotions, relationships, and stressors. I value helping individuals identify what is within their control, develop a clear sense of personal responsibility, and establish boundaries that support their well-being. While others may not change, individuals can learn to respond differently, create healthier patterns, and move toward greater autonomy and stability.
