My specialization is in child, adolescent, and family therapy and assessment. Having been a social worker and school psychologist in the public school system for 28 years, I have experience with age-appropriate therapies such as expressive or play therapy. I can offer family therapy and support for behavioral management, special education, the IEP process, advocacy for your child in the school environment.

I have found emotion-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (ECBT) to be helpful as a form of treatment. Particularly in our current uncertain times, implementing emotion regulation components in treatment can improve dysregulation of anxiety and other kind of emotions in anxious children and adults. Some ECBT techniques I may suggest include: Journaling, Positive thinking, Forgiveness, Reframing, Mindfulness.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can be effective for a range of mental health problems. I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)to help clients become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so that they can more clearly view challenging situations and respond to them more effectively. I have implemented CBT with both adults and adolescents. My aim to to help my clients learn better ways of coping, relieve their symptoms, and becoming more effective in their life.

I have extensive background in the assessment and treatment of ADHD, as well as advocating for ADHD and special needs students in the school setting. Families may be experiencing behavioral management issues with their child diagnosed with ADHD. I can offer behavioral management and parental support .

I work with parents and family members to provide the guidance and support you need so that you can provide a healthy and stable childhood for your child.

The past few years have not been without new and diverse challenges. Adults and children have experienced or been exposed to unprecedented stressors that can lead to trauma. Through variations of cognitive behavioral therapies, I can support and guide you in focusing on the relationships between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Through therapy, you can work toward changing those patterns of behaviors, thoughts and feelings that are leading to difficulties in functioning.
