Still waiting for life to start? Are you are too shy, too anxious, too depressed, too old, too clueless, too busy, too tired, too . . . what? You know something needs to change, but you don't know what? Don't know where to start? Just thinking about it overwhelms you? Yeah, it's pretty hard to do it by yourself. Also, I understand about invisible chronic health conditions.
My Background and Approach
I started my teen dream of becoming therapist when I turned 60, so I know how life gets in the way. Having the right mindset and perspective can change your life. Guided by your values we can make a plan to start moving toward your dream and dealing with the obstacles that seem insurmountable. Obstacles might be depression, anxiety, low-self esteem, lack of confidence, trauma, fear, family or cultural expectations, or just plain confusion. I offer information and tools that help you see where your brain is throwing you under the bus and how you can start driving that bus where you want it to go. A navigation system upgrade may be in order. I'll be here to hold your place when you take the wrong exit and help you laugh when the absurdities show up. You remember laughter, right? How about fun and play? No? We have work to do!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe nature is a quiet, under-appreciated healer. I love watching wildlife in their own habitat, finding new growth, and watching the weather change. I believe passion can be rediscovered and new ones developed. I believe people change, whether or not they realize it or want to and they can manage that change more than they think. I also believe change is unnecessarily difficult without someone in our corner. I believe more good can be accomplished in this world with compassion, willingness and support.
