About My Clients
I work towards an empowering and non-judgmental environment, using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, mindfulness, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
My Background and Approach
My professional path has been diverse, ranging from supporting teens and young adults grappling with addiction to serving in behavioral schools among other outpatient programs. I specialize in treating co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, and promoting lifestyles of balanced nutrition and movement. I am currently working towards a certificate in Nutritional Psychology. I earned my Master’s in Social Work at the University of Maryland Baltimore School of Social Work in 2010.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I don't believe that there is a limit to human capacity. I think the main reason we develop mental health issues is because they are unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way. Which means that I think you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones.
