About My Clients
I work with clients, couples, and families, who struggle with eating disorders/disordered eating, compulsive exercise, anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, LGBTQI issues, and relationship issues. It is my belief that having an accepting, respectful, and collaborative relationship is necessary for the healing and change process to occur. I strive to help you grow into your best self, to collaborate on holistic goal setting, to feel validated and heard, and have increased self-compassion.
My Background and Approach
I hold my Masters Degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling, from Lewis and Clark college. Having experience in both eating disorder residential treatment and outpatient care, I often use many different approaches with my clients. I utilize a Person Centered, strengths based, and collaborative approach, while utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavior therapies, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and other modalities to fit what each individual is needing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I hold the belief that everybody is doing the best that they can, with the resources they have available. Sometimes, we need a little extra support through the journey of life. Recognizing that we need support can be difficult, and reaching out for that support can be even more challenging, but you have made the first steps in creating change in your life. Personally, I am living a recovered life from an eating disorder, and have found tools through that help me handle my anxiety so that it does not have control over my life. I believe that every person should have access to the support they need. I strive, and diligently work towards creating an environment that is supportive to people with all body sizes/shapes, races and ethnicities, abilities, sexual orientations, genders, and religious affiliations.
