About My Clients
If you’re feeling stuck, burned out, defeated, or are barely holding things together — you’re not the only one. And more importantly, you don’t have to keep living this way. I work with adolescents and adults — especially men and LGBTQIA+ individuals — who are dealing with trauma, addiction, anxiety, and depression. Whether you're struggling to stay sober, weighed down by your past, or just trying to get through the day, we’ll focus on getting you unstuck and moving forward.
My Background and Approach
I use CBT, DBT, EMDR, and ACT to help you understand what’s keeping you stuck, and help you find tools to change. Sessions are structured, supportive, and focused on your progress. Here’s how I see therapy: you’re in the driver’s seat — I bring the maps. You don’t need to have everything figured out. You just need to be willing to start. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space for LGBTQIA+ individuals, mens' issues, substance use disorders and adolescents/adults seeking to heal from trauma. I use evidence-based approaches to help improve your mental health and navigate life's challenges with compassion and expertise.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a lifelong advocate for social justice and have spent the past 20 years working with LGBTQ communities to improve their health and reduce health disparities. During the pandemic I saw a huge shortage of mental health providers and that inspired me to return to graduate school and move my career in a new direction. After 14 years as a university faculty member, I left academia to become a full-time mental health provider.
