I work with adults and teens (13 and up) who may struggle with depression, anxiety, stress, mood disorder, substance abuse, family issues, or trauma.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Rehabilitation counseling from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. I have over 8 years of experience in the field. I have worked in various populations including but not limited to outpatient, inpatient, community mental health, private sector, domestic violence, and military settings. I specialize in working with clients with dual diagnosis, mood disorder, trauma, anxiety, recovering from drugs or alcohol, depression, grief, and anger management. Every individual is unique in their own way, so my approach varies based on each individual experience. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, Reality Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy are the primary therapeutic approaches I use.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in nurturing a positive trusting relationship between counselor and client which will result in a positive outcome. I believe everyone could benefit from counseling in some way whether it is to have a listening ear outside of family or friends, having extra support to help guide you towards your goals, or processing some concerns you have been holding onto which is now taking a toll on your overall wellness/relationships. Good physical, emotional, and spiritual health helps create a balance of a fulfilling life. A path towards healing can start today are you ready? I am here to help.
