About My Clients
My clinical interests include working with individuals experiencing PTSD and other trauma-related disorders, anxiety, and grief along with folks exploring their sexuality and/or gender identity and formerly incarcerated people. I am also passionate about supporting survivors of sexual and/or interpersonal violence. I understand how difficult it can be to endure and heal from these situations especially while stuck in survival mode or struggling under the weight of societal stigma.
My Background and Approach
Through majoring in Forensic Mental Health Counseling, I prioritize an anti-oppressive and feminist framework as it is undeniable how various systems and institutions have the power to impact BIPOC and other marginalized populations in a profound way. As a mixed-race woman, I recognize how lived experience, identity, and social context shapes the way people navigate the world and their relationships on a daily basis. My therapeutic work is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and trauma-informed care. My goal is to help clients process and make meaning of difficult experiences, better understand the motivations underlying their thoughts and behaviors, build resilience, and move toward healing both the mind and body in a way that feels authentic, solid, and reflective of one’s own values.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My values and ethics are rooted in intersectional feminism first and foremost. I believe in full equality and rights for all people regardless of race, sex, gender, ethnicity, or class. I am gender-affirming and in full support of the entirety of the LGBTQ+ community. Politically, I identify as a Leftist.
