Hi, I'm Dominique! I use a mind/body approach that is trauma-informed and culturally sensitive.
Clinical Social Worker in Severna Park, MD
Anxiety is a common symptom, especially now when it can seem like we are all just waiting for the next shoe to drop. A lifetime of adversity can make us feel like we can never feel safe, relax or let our guard down. I have specialized training in getting to the root cause of anxiety. My approach is to help you with coping skills in the short term, and in the longer term helping you heal the underlying issues that cause you to feel anxious.
Parenting and taking care of extended family is something we do out of love, but when our own needs aren't being met it can become a responsibility that feels like an obligation. We can begin to wonder, "what about my needs?" Caregiving can cause a great deal of stress, especially when we are struggling with our own emotional or physical health on top of it. I understand these struggles and how to help. I have a heart for helping moms after years of working with families.
I have specialized training in trauma and PTSD to help survivors of childhood abuse and adult relationship violence. I understand that what happens in childhood can linger over our whole lives, both in emotional and physical ways. I am here to help you heal from the past experiences that won't go away from your mind.
I identify as Black/African American and enjoy working with clients who identify as Black/African American.
