About My Clients
My clients are typically needing support, guidance and encouragement as they navigate living a happier life. I typically treat clients that are self sufficient and successful but find that they are not feeling like they are living their best life or seem to continually struggle with the same obstacles in life. By using mindfulness based therapy, clients are taught and empowered to observe their own mind plays so that they become aware of self defeating patterns.
My Background and Approach
I began my lifelong journey to living a happier life many years ago. I began by finding my own therapist who helped me begin to see how many times, I was creating my own unhappiness and misery by not getting to really know myself in a way where I could be aware of how exactly was contributing to it. I felt so free to begin seeing these things that I decided to pursue therapy as a profession in my mid-twenties. My passion is nature and the outdoors and in my career, I have been able to integrate that into my practice by working as a wilderness therapist and a behavioral consultant at a company that allowed nature walks and using the outdoors for healing. During a sabbatical, I chose to be an outdoor wilderness guide and then a National Park ranger as a way of using nature to help others. I will continue to encourage clients to use this free and very powerful medicine so know that I may ask you to lie in fresh green grass or listen to bird song as a part of your healing journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We are all equally human first and foremost. We all live on a beautifully orchestrated planet that exists in harmony and provides humans with fresh air, clean water, and all that we need to be happy. It's quite apparent that we have lost our way in remembering what is truly important for living a happy life and we must go back to the basics. When a person is truly ready for a change, they are willing to learn new ways of seeing things and techniques to assist them with making happier, healthier choices. This ,in a sense, is creating new pathways in the brain that allows the client to live the life that they truly want to live and not a life that they think they should live. All humans have the right to live to their highest potential and I look forward to being part of your journey!
