About My Clients
I work with couples that are busy professionals, new parents, Asian/Asian American/South Asian couples, LGBTQ couples, and couples navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and family conflict. Many of my clients are balancing academic or career pressures alongside personal struggles. I offer grounded insights and actionable strategies to create meaningful progress.
My Background and Approach
My approach to couples therapy is structured, emotionally attuned, and focused on helping couples create real movement in their relationship. I am a Level 3 trained Gottman Method therapist and have also completed a certificate program in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. I integrate these two highly effective models to help partners understand the patterns that keep them stuck and develop practical ways to shift them. Together we focus on improving communication, navigating conflict more effectively, and rebuilding emotional safety and connection. My style is collaborative and direct—I offer both insight and concrete feedback so couples leave sessions with a clearer understanding of what’s happening between them and what to do differently.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’ve had an interesting career path that has led me to the place I’m at as a practicing therapist. I originally ran off with the Peace Corps after college and, afterward, entered the corporate world while simultaneously completing my MBA. While everything was “fine” in my life, I felt incomplete not being able to work one-on-one with individuals as I had while I was serving in the Peace Corps. Thus, I returned to graduate school and completed my education and clinical training to become a licensed therapist. In this regard, I’m a believer that we are all multidimensional human beings, and we are allowed to live multidimensional and uniquely fulfilling lives.
