About My Clients

I am a trauma-informed therapist focusing on couples and relationship groups, and individual adults. I aim to be an ally to marginalized identities and to provide ongoing support and guidance on my clients' transformational healing journey so that they can live the life they envisioned. I strive to provide social justice-oriented, body & sex-positive, LGBTQ+, kink & poly, and culturally affirming psychotherapy. I practice from a curiosity-based, strengths-focused, and collaborative framework.

My Background and Approach

I have a BA degree in Psychology, an MA degree in Mental Health Counseling focused on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and another MA degree in Couple and Family Therapy. I also have a Sex Therapy certificate as part of my degree program. As a systems therapist, I consider the many contexts involved in making each person’s experience unique and tailor my treatment approaches to my client’s unique needs. I center my work around narrative therapy to reauthor stories and create new meaning. I also practice attachment-based theories which state that people are influenced by their early attachment figures, childhood, and previous attachment ruptures.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Many individuals are apprehensive about starting therapy as change can feel daunting. As a therapist, I aim to create spaces in which we can be more aware, vulnerable, and authentic together. Once people begin to feel validated and supported, that opens up a safe space where we can think about how we can live more according to what we value. I believe that empathic relationships can be transformative. It’s amazing what small changes in a person’s life can do for their sense of agency and autonomy. There's tremendous value in slowing down and finding ways to process what we are experiencing and naming what we are feeling in response. Maya Angelou said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” It is my honor to witness your story and I believe that you are the expert of your life. That's why my priority is to coauthor your story that promotes positive change at your own pace.
