About My Clients
With a Master’s degree in Psychology, and fluency in both Turkish and English, I’m passionate about using my skills and lived experiences to make mental health care more accessible, especially for those in marginalized and immigrant communities.
My Background and Approach
My advanced training is in Existential Counseling, and our work together will center on exploring how you experience emotions and respond to the unique difficulties life presents. While I have extensive experience in helping individuals manage and resolve mental health challenges, we will approach each life conflict as a natural and understandable response to personal experiences and existential questions. In therapy, our focus will be on accepting and understanding how you feel, rather than trying to change or suppress those emotions. As your therapist, my goal is not to pathologize your responses, but to help you find meaning in your current circumstances. We’ll work together to explore how your emotions and experiences can provide insight into your life, without judgment or labels.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Having experienced the challenges of starting over in a new country, I understand firsthand the barriers that many face in accessing support—whether due to financial hardship, language, or cultural stigmas. As a bilingual counselor, I strive to offer an inclusive space that honors the intersectionality of your identity and experiences. My approach is rooted in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to social justice, ensuring that all clients feel seen, heard, and respected in their therapeutic journey.
