About My Clients
I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, young adults, caregivers, and families through compassion, creativity, and deep respect for each person’s unique way of being. My clients are those who often times feel misunderstood, have "big" emotions, and yearn for relational safety and connection. They are families and caregivers searching for support with managing day-to-day stressors of raising children or communicating effectively with their family members.
My Background and Approach
With training in art therapy, I integrate creative expression and developmentally attuned interventions to my clients communicate thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words. I offer warmth and compassion, by working through a trauma-informed and neuro-affirming lens to ensure safety. With experience working in community mental health settings, I am collaborative and community centered, which means I find it meaningful to consult with other professionals as needed to ensure we're on the same page about your care. Referrals and other resources are also provided if we determine additional supports are needed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that when a person, young or old, feel understood and supported, their natural resilience emerges. My goal is to create a therapeutic space where everyone feels seen, respected, and empowered, just as they are. As a first-generation Latina, I understand the challenges of growing up "in between" two worlds, and trying hard to fit into a mold. The stress, pressure, and delicate balance between your own values and those of your family or culture can sometimes feel overwhelming and difficult to manage. However, my belief is that through therapy we can build supportive environments at home and with others that reflect curiosity, attunement, and care.
