Although therapy involves hard work and dedication to yourself, it can also be fun, positive, and empowering. A sense of humor is welcome!

Mindfulness helps bring curious awareness to thoughts, emotional experiences, and bodily sensations, reducing judgments to let loose the pressure to follow through on every single thought, emotion, or sensation, and activates new neural pathways (neuroplasticity). With mindfulness practice, we can pause, observe, note, and return focus. Mindfulness and self-compassion will help you encourage yourself and radically accept that things can be difficult and safe at the same time.
Psychotherapeutic care is an individualized process, curated and crafted for the unique person. I pull from many psychotherapeutic modalities, treatments, theories, frameworks, techniques, skills, and strategies and tailor treatment as appropriate. I take a holistic and collaborative approach to care! This is YOUR therapy, after all. I am trained in gut-directed hypnotherapy to help reduce gut-health related flares, such as from IBS, IBD, or GERD.
I theoretically underpin trauma therapy with Polyvagal theory and mind-body approaches. Therapeutic interventions we may engage in are Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, somatic therapies, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, mindfulness-based, Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), and relaxation techniques (e.g., deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, body scanning). General goals are to widen your autonomic window of tolerance and the embodiment of safety.
I take an integrative mind-body approach to care. The therapeutic relationship is far more important than specific therapeutic modalities used. We collaboratively create a tri-phasic, personalized treatment plan for those presenting with PTSD, C-PTSD, and complex trauma.
