About My Clients
Clients have described me as warm, direct, and results-oriented, and in my practice, I provide both a space to reflect as well as actionable tools and strategies to try right away. I specialize in depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. I am also experienced in treating mood disorders, substance use, and sleep issues. Whether you have been struggling with mood changes, anxiety, difficult relationships, grief, or loss, I look forward to partnering with you on your recovery.
My Background and Approach
I work from an integrative, results-oriented approach grounded in evidence and science-based interventions. When you work with me, you can expect that we will keep your goals and vision of “feeling better” as a touchstone throughout our time together. A course of therapy may be as short as a few sessions or as long as a year or more, depending on each person’s situation and goals. Social justice and existential philosophies inform my orientation. I draw from many different evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based techniques, interpersonal strategies, and attachment theory. My professional passions include neurobiology and re-integration, mind-body connections, relational health, intergenerational healing, and resilience. I am highly skilled in collaborating with psychiatrists and medical teams.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that exploring therapy can be a powerful way to reclaim time and space for yourself in the troubled world we live in. I welcome people of all races, ethnicities, faiths, gender identities, sexual orientations, relationship structures, and abilities. I practice from a whole-person, trauma-informed approach and bring deep respect for each person’s values, cultures, communities, and experiences of the world we live in. I partner with people on defining and living lives of purpose, meaning and joy--in connection with themselves and others.
