About My Clients

The journey towards change always begins with intention and with the courage to seek help, to tell your story, to believe that it will get better. I'm here to meet you where you are, and to support you in your journey from intention to hope. My ideal client sets the intention to come to therapy and do the work, whatever that may look like for you. I acknowledge there is no therapy if you, the client, are not invested in this process, and I honor your intention to be vulnerable and seek growth.

My Background and Approach

I utilize a multicultural, person-centered approach to therapy. I welcome and encourage you to talk about your cultural identities, and explore how these identities, as well as your environment and upbringing impact your mental health. I can help you in uncovering and recognizing your resiliency and inner strength and I will assist you in learning how to utilize those strengths to cope with and overcome your challenges. I am trained in EMDR and my main focus is on trauma and grief, but I also enjoy working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, burnout, and life changes. I utilize humor in my practice as well as in my personal life, and I believe that only by being my most authentic self can I encourage you to be the same. I am a firm believer in the connection between the mind, the body, and the soul, and I will encourage you to explore and incorporate movement, breath, and mindfulness in your treatment and life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My interests and my love for therapy go hand in hand. I love running marathons because they are big goals I chip away at daily, literally step by step. I’m a yogi trying to return to the mat and I believe that movement is medicine. I love making new neural connections and getting lost in new experiences, whether they are traveling to new places, baking a new dessert, reading a new book, or let’s face it, binge watching a good show. I support BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and trans rights. As a human being, woman, member of a minority, and therapist, I believe it is my privilege and responsibility to create and foster an anti-racist, all-inclusive safe space for healing members of my own communities. I am committed to do no harm by uncovering my own biases, by educating myself in order to better support my clients of all identities and backgrounds, and by continuing to have conversations around race-related problems and inequalities that our marginalized populations endure on a continuing basis.
