About My Clients
My clients are generally teens and adults navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions/stress, identity exploration, and the emotional weight of chronic pain. My clients feel like they can show up as their authentic selves when working with me. If you are unsure if I work with an issue you are dealing with, please reach out!
My Background and Approach
I have extensive experience working with teens and adults experiencing traumatic grief (ex. losing a loved one to violence) often coming with ptsd-like symptoms. I also have experience working with people struggling with general anxiety, grief unrelated to loss, the stress of life changes/transitions, and people who want to explore more about who they are. Lastly, I live with chronic pain and connect with people also living with chronic pain/illness. Therapy with me will look like us spending the first few sessions developing trust. My approach is warm and compassionate with a splash of humor. We'll talk about what challenges you're facing and what you hope to gain from this process. My goal is to help you make sense of your experiences, strengthen your resilience, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, meaningful, and aligned for you. Together, we'll reflect, develop practical tools for you to use, and work towards lasting change at a pace that feels right for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that mental health issues as well as our overall mental wellness is greatly impacted by social structures such as race, class, gender, sexuality, religion, etc. I regularly engage in study and discussion about social justice issues in order to have an informed understanding of our society. I bring this level of curiosity and awareness to the therapy space. As a person with oppressed identities, I believe very deeply in internal liberation despite dealing with external oppression. I value constantly asking ourselves why we are the way we are and why "things" are the way they are so we can be sure that we are actually living the type of life we want to live; not one that we are told to or feel like we have to live. Examining and treating our mental health concerns are a step in that direction.
