About My Clients
If you're facing new health challenges—perhaps it's your first time dealing with insomnia or making significant health changes—it can be overwhelming. The medical system can feel confusing, and it’s hard to know where to begin. It may feel difficult to imagine making progress or navigating these challenges on your own, but you're not alone. I’m here to help you create a plan and support you every step of the way as we work through these challenges together.
My Background and Approach
I completed my APA-accredited internship and fellowship training at VA facilities, where I specialized in health psychology, chronic pain, and insomnia. I have extensive training in evidence-based therapies, including CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based approaches. Over the years, I’ve worked in chronic pain, primary care, and sleep clinics, helping individuals from diverse backgrounds. While I strongly believe in the effectiveness of these evidence-based treatments, I also recognize the importance of tailoring them to your unique needs, identity, and experiences. Whether you're focused on getting your health back on track, managing insomnia, or navigating a new chronic illness, I'm here to support you through this journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
You are not defined by your diagnosis, though I understand how it can influence various aspects of your life. As a culturally informed therapist who identifies as Latine, I recognize how culture, gender, and religion can sometimes create conflicts or barriers when seeking help during a health challenge. I've seen how these dynamics affect my own circle—family, friends, and myself—which has inspired me to create a space where people can feel truly supported without judgment.
