About My Clients

The individuals I see are focused on coming to terms with a difficult childhood or tough life stage -such as a narcissistic or self-involved parent, lack of resources in early life, or family trauma through the generations that never got sorted out. Often they're hard working and resilient, but living with sensitivity and a sense of dread. The couples that I help are committed to each other but circling in repetitive arguments. I guide couples to see each other and themselves more clearly.

My Background and Approach

I believe therapy can cultivate ease in life, to recapture what was lost, or perhaps find what was never given to you to begin with. I work with clients to help identify their own wants and needs. I In my office, clients depend on me to keep it real with them and use my truth in service to their healing. We stay focused on your current goals because therapy should be relevant to what you want to change right now. We laugh where we can, finding humor as medicine, even in dark moments. We’ll find out that small opportunities for growth in life turn out to be fucking brave turning points. I obtained my MA in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Expressive Arts from the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2012. In addition to couples and individuals in private practice, my clinical experience has been with elders in a residential setting, low income children in schools, and teens and their families in the juvenile justice/probation system.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in cultivating a deeper compassion for yourself and others. I care about understanding myself and others in a cultural and historical context. However, I believe that one's own story may be distinct from these identities. I care about women's rights as human rights. I believe in fighting oppression by engaging others with privilege with humanity. I believe the way we treat our least valued members of society teaches who we really are. I am an advocate of prison and criminal justice reform.
