About My Clients
Des has experience working with adults who feel intense pressure to perform and struggle with perfectionism, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm. She is especially attuned to clients who experienced childhood emotional neglect, carry guilt around rest or asking for help, and tend to over-function in relationships. Her relational work is informed by attachment theory and psychodynamic exploration.
My Background and Approach
Des’s approach blends somatic and mindfulness-based practices, reparenting, and nervous system regulation. Her therapeutic lens is grounded in psychodynamic and existential theory, offering depth-oriented support for clients exploring identity, self-worth, and emotional patterns shaped by early relationships. She also integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to promote values-aligned action and sustainable behavior change.
