About My Clients
I work with adults, couples, and families navigating communication challenges, emotional disconnection, trust concerns, life transitions, and family-of-origin patterns. I especially enjoy working with BIPOC clients and couples who want space to explore how culture, identity, race, family expectations, and outside stress affect their relationships. My clients are often looking for deeper understanding, not just quick fixes.
My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with six years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. My approach is warm, direct, conversational, and collaborative. I primarily work from a Narrative Therapy perspective, which means I focus on separating people from the problems affecting them and exploring the stories, relationships, and systems shaping their experiences. I also integrate attachment-based approaches, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method concepts, Internal Family Systems-informed work, psychoeducation, and family-of-origin exploration. I pay close attention to culture, race, identity, power, and the larger systems influencing clients’ lives and relationships. Therapy with me is not about finding someone to blame or prescribing a “right” way to live. We work together to understand recurring patterns, identify what is no longer serving you, and experiment with new ways of relating that feel more intentional, connected, and sustainable.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people make the most sense when we understand the relationships, cultures, histories, and systems surrounding them. I value curiosity over judgment and understanding over blame. I also believe therapy should make room for conversations about race, identity, power, family expectations, and social context when those experiences matter to you. I don’t believe there is one “right” way to have a relationship, build a family, or move through the world. My role is not to impose my values on you, but to help you better understand your own and determine whether the patterns in your life and relationships align with what matters most to you. Outside of therapy, I’m a lifelong learner, an avid reader, and someone who genuinely enjoys conversations about relationships, culture, family systems, and the ways people become who they are. I also believe warmth and humor can belong in therapy alongside difficult, meaningful work.
