Adolescents have unique issues they face due to their developmental stage. They can struggle with self-esteem, identity, expression of feelings, social conflicts and family conflicts. They can feel very alone and misunderstood. I help provide them with words for their feelings and appropriate expression of their feelings which includes decision making outcomes. They have big feelings without the knowledge of how the world works which increases anxiety, I help them to process and reframe.

The symptoms of Depression can seem insurmountable when facing them alone, I'd like to help guide you through the symptoms so you can experience life with a healthy mind-set. Every person's circumstances are different which requires an individualized approach to manage symptoms, implement coping skills, and develop a support system. One of the best steps you can take to fight depression is to gather allies. Depression wants you to isolate and face it alone, because that's when it has strength.

In Narrative therapy, you are the expert of your life and your share according to your experience while I provide assistance in separating you as a person from the identified issue. The distance created from you and the issue often helps to evaluate the situation and provide for action towards an identified best outcome scenario. This approach doesn't place blame and has a non-judgmental premise which allows for a more positive overall experience when exploring difficult life issues.

The Person-Centered therapy approach allows you to be the primary information giver and/or talker during the therapy. The therapist provides unconditional positive regard for your treatment and will provide encouragement and support in addition to empathetic understanding of the circumstances you're facing. Together we will find your natural ability to work towards growth and overall fulfillment.

CBT in therapy helps us to identify the distortions in thought patterns and how they effect our behaviors day to day. By recognizing negative or unhelpful thought patterns we can reframe them into more positive and useful thoughts that then will encourage change in our behaviors and abilities. Many of our negative thought patterns have been present since childhood without anything challenging them for positive change.
