My Background and Approach
I bring warmth, curiosity, and thoughtfulness to my work as a therapist. My approach is grounded in existential and humanistic traditions, rooted in the belief that therapy is a collaborative exploration of meaning, connection, and what it means to live well, even in the face of suffering. I work relationally, attending closely to the dynamics between us as a way of understanding the patterns that shape your life outside the therapy room. My background includes extensive experience supporting people through trauma, grief, relationship struggles, and major life transitions. I strive to offer a space that balances compassion and honesty. A space where you can feel seen, understood, and gently challenged toward growth. Whether you’re feeling lost, disconnected, or searching for deeper meaning, we’ll work together to make sense of what’s happening and move toward a more grounded, authentic way of being.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we heal in relationship with others and that, particularly in today's society, social loneliness and isolation contributes to a breadth of mental health issues and ineffective and unhealthy learned behaviors. In my experience volunteering for a crisis line, I have spoken with many people that are simply looking for someone to witness their life, a desire that I believe we all want on some level. I have a passion for gardening, nature, the outdoors, and movement that came to me late in life; as a person that grew up playing games on a computer, it was eye-opening to discover the healing impact of simply existing outdoors and playing in the dirt. I am an avid reader of genre fiction, specifically science-fiction and fantasy, and find that experiencing others' worlds through narrative can be a powerfully moving and expansive experience.
